Our 1 day course on “Getting into GP Training” has been running since 2005 and offers the most comprehensive information about the entire process. We have helped hundreds of doctors, with successful candidates entering every Deanery in the UK. The course covers the entire process from application to appointment: Stage 1: Applications and Longlisting – eligibility criteria for GP ST entry. Common reasons for having your application rejected at this stage, and how to avoid them. What to tell your referees. Paperwork needed for the Stage 2 assessment. Proving your Foundation competencies (Document A / B / C / D) / preparing a portfolio of evidence. Stage 2: The Stage 2 assessments – Clinical Problem Solving paper – types and level of questions, practice questions, reading lists, understanding keywords in the exam. Stage 3: What to expect at Stage 3 assessments, communication and consultation skills for the simulated patient encounter, group tasks, written prioritisation exercise including sample task. Presentation tasks. Hot topics in General Practice: the White paper, Revalidation, nGMS, nMRCGP, the changing face of General Practice, GPwSI. Questions and Answers: There are 3 Q and A sessions where you will be able to ask questions related to any aspect of the process, and a 1 to 1 clinic at the end of the day to ask personal questions. This course is suitable for anyone that wants to get onto a GP ST programme, whether you applied and did not secure a rotation in 2007, or are applying for the first time in 2008. Please note that the recruitment to GP Specialty training is VERY different to all other specialities. We have helped unemployed doctors, SHOs, consultants, staff grades and F2 doctors get shortlisted and selected for GP training. The latest round of applications (January 2007 and) has been another successful one for our delegates: "This is an email to inform you that I got a place in Northern Ireland on the GP training scheme - my first choice deanery. Thank you so much for the work you do with Emedica - it was so much help and made me more confident and reassured on the day of the assessments. I will certainly be recommending your course to my friends and colleagues who wish to secure a place on the scheme. Thank you so much again! " "Just wanted to let you know that I was offered a training post for ST1 VTS in West Midlands at Walsall (my first choice!) today. I attended both of your courses earlier in the year and found them to be invaluable. Many thanks to you and your team" "I attended one of you GP ST selection days in Birmingham earlier on in the year. I found it very informative, and helped reduce a lot of uncertainty. I've now been offered an ST1 appointment in my first choice deanery (Eastern). Many thanks for your help, I would have no hesitation in recommending your course."
