::Success Stories::

Since 2005 we have helped candidates applying to every Deanery in the UK succeed in Getting into GP Training. Here are some of our success stories. We would love to add yours here soon!

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I write to inform you of my success through your course and an eventual placement in the Hereford region of West Midlands. Yes the competition was tough, as it was last year, but I believe that this years' was based upon a more fair and thorough evaluation system. Your course was very useful and a major morale booster. I only wish that there were more services available to guide young doctors as sincerely as you do…I would like to thank you once again…Yours Sincerely,

Dr. M. K (West Midlands Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman et al.

I just wanted to let you know that I was successful in my stage 3 assessment and have just accepted an ST1 Post in London. Please accept my sincere thanks for all the help that you and the team gave me. Your stage 3 preparation courses were superb and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other doctors. Once again, thank you.

S S (London Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman,

I would like to inform you that I have been offered a place on the 2008 GP training programme in Scotland.  I must commend you and thank you for the excellent courses you run.  I attended the Stage 2 preparation course in Cardiff (27 October 2007) and later, the Stage 3 preparation course in Birmingham (15 March 2008). Your presentation style and insight into the selection process is remarkable.  On your courses, the negative attitudes that have caused failure for so many in the past were highlighted and the interactive sessions (on the Stage 3 course) helped to get everyone (especially me) very well prepared for the competition for places.  Well done to you and your team, and keep up the good work

P A (Scotland Deanery 2008)

Dear Emedica staff,

I just wanted to let you know that i was successful in my GP application and i am starting a 3 year GP VTS in KSS in August.  Thank you all so much for the help and advice you provided on the Emedica stage 3 course. I have no doubts whatsoever that your course helped me in securing this rotation. The practice we were able to do on the course and the detail about the interview process which you went through made the assessment centre much less scary and definitely made me feel much more prepared about what to expect on the day. I would highly recommend the course and Emedica to colleagues who are planning on applying for GP VTS in the future. It was obvious by the care and attention that had been put in to the course that all of you really were committed to our future.

Thanks again.

L I (KSS Deanery 2008)

Many many thanks to the team of emedica, esp Dr Rahman for his help and support. I have been offered ST1 in GP training from east of England (my 1st choice deanery). Just to let you know that I was really helped by your excellent course.

Dear Salina / Dr Rahman

Dear Dr Rahman, Salina and Andre,

Got my first choice - been accepted for GP training in the Mersey Deanery!!

Just want to say a very big thank you. I couldn’t have done it without attending the emedica course. I found the group discussion scenarios the most helpful because it meant that on the day that station didn’t seem as unfamiliar or as daunting as it could have been had I not attended the stage 3 course.  Keep up the good work I will be definately  recommending the course for my friends in the year below.

Many kind regards

I R (Mersey Deanery 2008)

Dear Salina Begum

J E (Northern Ireland deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman

I just wanted to let the Emedica team know that I was successful in gaining a place on a three-year GP ST1 training scheme (Severn Deanery). Not only that, but my 8th of 101 ranked choices!  Getting a last minute - actually a cancellation - place on your Emedica course on Sunday 24th of February in Birmingham was probably the best thing that could have happened. And money well spent. I would never have been prepared for the Stage 3 Selection Centre otherwise. …For me, what the course gave me was a warning shot!  I went into the selection centre at least knowing broadly what was coming up. I knew the type of scenarios which might occur, the basic format of the selection process as a whole.  That took away much of the fear of the process for me. …

With warmest wishes

H (Severn Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman and the Emedica Team,

I attended your excellent 'Getting into GP training' course in Birmingham prior to applying for a GP training rotation within the Eastern deanery. Now we know where we will be for the next three years and so we have bought our first house and are looking to move in over the month of April. The skills I've learnt have not only been useful in the exam setting but also with daily work as well. We have group discussions everyday without realising it!! It has also helped me deal with difficult colleagues! You courses are excellent and I will gladly recommend them to anyone who wants to become a GP… Hope to hear from you soon.. please say thanks to all your team as well for being so helpful and friendly.

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I got my first choice placement at the London deanery. I went on both the stage 2 and 3 course and it made a huge difference.

Thank you so much. …

Dr S M (London Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr. Rahman and the team,

I wanted to thank you all for providing excellent training towards the GP ST exams. I have secured a place in the KSS deanery. I was unable to study for the stage 2 exams due to personal reasons, but, what helped me the most was your online revision. I am very impressed with both your courses ( stage 1 -4 and preparation course for stage 3) and feel you had a major role in my success. I also feel that if my stage 2 score was not included in the stage 3 scores, I would have even got the first choice hospital. My stage 3 performance went very well and your course certainly gave me the edge. Thank you once again for all your …. I will certainly recommend your courses to my all colleagues.

Regards,

Dr. A K (KSS Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman and all at Emedica

Luckily, London deanery offered me a ST1: 3 Year GP Specialty Training Programme on the xxx Scheme which I have accepted. I'm so happy (and relieved)! I am totally overwhelmed because of the disappointment I suffered last year and it was one of my top 3 choice areas….On a final note, I just wanted to thank you and everyone at Emedica for your help. As I said, I attended another course a previous year but it did not offer the personalised service and repeated practice sessions that you offered. I shall recommend your course very highly. It's also so nice and reassuring that someone is there for support and advice at a time when you feel quite alone and are in competition with friends. And to think, I was considering other career options last year....See you at the course in May Thanks

N (London Deanery 2008)

Dear emedica

I just wanted to inform you that I have received an offer for ST1 GP training in the West Midlands Deanery to commence aug 2008. I got the distinct impression that this is something you also passionately believe in. I look forward to hearing from you,

H (West Midlands Deanery 2008)

Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that I have been offered and accepted a 3 year gp vts programme in the west midlands deanery at my 1st choice geographical location. I attended both your stage 1-4 course in December and your stage 3 course in February. My feedback in all areas of stage 3 and 2 was encouraging and I scored 83 in my numerical ranking at stage 3. Thanks go to all of you at Emedica for your support along the process. I look forward to your help in the future with the courses you offer for membership.

Many Thanks

Dr R M (West midlands deanery 2008)

Dear Dr.Rahman,

I am pleased to let you know that I have got the VTS rotation ST1 in my first choice deanery at KSS. Looking back at my feedback in the exam I had scored high marks especially in the group exercise. I cannot stress how important was to attend the stage 3 course. I felt much relaxed during the exam as the confidence obtained during the practise sessions in your course made me forget about all other books. I had attended all three of your courses for GP entrance and all of them were very well organised, finished on time and professionally presented. The food especially was very good at Luton. Many thanks for your response.

Regards,

A S R (KSS Deanery 2008)

Dear Dr Rahman,

Thank you for your help for stage 3. You'll be pleased to know that I got through!

Thank you so so much

Your sincerely,

A k (Northern Deanery 2008)

Dear Emedica,

I attended a stage 3 course and revised online for the stage 2. Now I have a GP specialty training job in Doncaster! Thank you so much. I found the online revision really helpful, easy to use, and very relevant. The paper 2 questions were essential practice for the real exam. The stage 3 course was great as well. It was good to practice the scenarios and find out about how you are marked. It gave me so much more confidence on the day. Thanks again,

A H (Yorkshire Deanery 2008)

Hey there Salina and Mahibur.

With much determination and guidance from your very good selves, I've managed to stealthily join the Severn Deanery for two years by securing an ST2 spot. I'll be over in Cheltenham and Gloucester , from August onward.

I've got a lot of praise for you both, not only in the way you've helped and guided myself and the other candidates through this difficult period, but also how you embrace the challenge of doing so. Your phone call to me meant a lot and really reflected your involvement in the success of the people you meet and tutor on your courses. Without a doubt, your interest lies in our success and this is certainly mirrored by your hard work and will equally fuel you to persist and flourish in the great work you do. You were very kind to fit me in to your overbooked courses and gave me positive support prior to the assessments and this has definitely been a major factor in my achievement. I feel that I have gained a friend in you both and wish you all the best in everything you wish to undertake.

Many thanks again.

Dear Dr Rahman,

I want to say thank you for your course materials.  I am happy to inform you
that I got ST2 job with the KSS deanery.  The shocking thing on the 8th of
May was the initial contact I got from GP Recruitment which said I did not
get a place with the London deanery but an hour later on same day the KSS
deanery offered me the post but I didn't know until  2 days later when I got
the offer in the post. Thanks for everything.  I attended your course in Birmingham July last year and used your revision questions twice and it paid off finally.
Keep up the excellent work.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Emedica,

I am just writing to thank you for all your help over the last few months. I came to the seminar 'how to get into the GP training scheme' in January in Birmingham . It was well worth the money and I felt I learnt a lot about the process and how to prepare for the exam. There were so many myths flying around at that point but it was all made very clear at the talk exactly what was going to happen.

I also felt more prepared for the interview even though in January that seemed so far away! I looked back at the course notes and it really helped.

I have now got a job on the GP training scheme in my first choice deanery and at my first choice hospital! So obviously I'm very happy. Thank you to all at Emedica who gave a brilliant course …. I am very appreciative for all you did. I will definitely recommend you to other people in my position in the future!

Thanks again,

Dr J J-H

Here are some of the emails from our successful delegates from the August 2006 round of applications :

Dear Dr Rahman,

Just wanted to inform you I have been successful and secured the job I wanted (30 month GP VTS ) at Kingston - my first choice. I wanted to thank you for the advice you gave at the course and that it helped me tremendously. The assessments were still such an unknown quantity, even when we sat them as it's the first time London deanery ran assessment days instead of interviews but i felt prepared because of the course. Thank you for the support and information you provided. I would recommend Emedica without reservation for anyone who wants to arm themselves with the best tools for the arduous task of getting through to the finals stages!

With many thanks
S E (London Deanery)

Dear Dr Rahman,

I attended the Birmingham Emedica 'Getting into General Practice' courses and I'm pleased to say that Severn & Wessex Deanery have offered me a GP Registrar post starting in August next year!

I wanted to say that your courses really helped me in securing this post. They gave me a great idea of what to expect at both stages of assessment and helped me to focus on key areas of preparation. They were also friendly, informal and enjoyable days. Its a great course and I'm sure many more people will benefit both from your guidance on courses and the online resources next time around.

Kind regards,
